Use your own pricing
The router picks the cheapest confident model, so what it believes things cost matters. If your rates differ from list prices, because of a committed-spend discount, a negotiated contract, or a provider route with its own markup, tell the router, and its rankings will follow your real costs.
What's on a model's price
Each target model on your router carries:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Input $/Mtok | Price per million input tokens |
| Output $/Mtok | Price per million output tokens |
| Cache R/W $/Mtok | Price per million tokens to read from, and write to, the prompt cache |
| Context | The model's context window |
| Vision | Whether the model accepts images |
| Effort routing | Whether the router can adjust effort for the model |
Prices are prefilled when you add a model. They show next to each model in the New router form and in the Target models table on the Configuration tab.
Change them
- Open the router and go to Configuration.
- Click Edit configuration.
- Adjust a model's pricing, and save.
Cache read and write prices matter more than they look. The router credits a model that already holds your context in cache, so an accurate cache price is what makes cache-aware routing choose well.
Why it matters
A model that's the cheapest at list price might not be the cheapest at the price you pay. If your rates are different and the router doesn't know, it'll rank on the wrong numbers.
